Who took the first Selfie?

Who took the first Selfie?

Lots of peoples believes that this is the first selfie. It is a sculpture of Bek the chief royal artist and his wife.

But it is not a selfie. A selfie is a photograph taken by ownself. When I am watching your selfie, I am not a third observer looking at you through someone else's eye. It's just me watching at you.
However, we could define selfie in different forms as well.

First Wave Selfie

The unintentional, automatic or accidental resemblances of ownself like prehistoric human footprint.

Second Wave Selfie

The intentional depiction of ownself for example painting is second wave selfie.

Third Wave Selfie

Photographs are third wave selfie. At 1839, Robert Cornelius took his first self-portrait, which is considered as the world's first selfie. However, is not like modern day selfie.
Seventy years after in 1909, Joseph Byron took the first arm extended selfie.

Fourth Wave Selfie

In 1995, 19-year-old Hiromi Toshikawa (heromix) was nominated for new cosmos of photography award for submitting snapshots of her daily life. Her sudden fame among teenagers and educated elite made the practice a thing. Young peoples in Japan started to following this practice. She started the fourth wave selfie.

Why do peoples take selfie?

As Camera becoming smaller and easier to handle, peoples started taking photographs at any instants. Peoples always love looking at themselves. And it is becoming easier and easier to do so.

Role of Social media

Social media boosted taking selfie as a social sharing activity.

Reverse Selfie

In 1969, Michael Collins took the first reverse selfie. A reverse selfie is a selfie in which every one is present except the person taking the selfie.

Who coined the term selfe?

The earliest uses of it was from sept-23, 2002 by Australian Nathan Hope. Hypocorism: cuter version of an existing word. It is a hypocorism of self-portrait.

What happens if a Star Explodes near the Earth?

What happens if a Star Explodes near the Earth? Well, the nearest star from earth is the Sun. The sun is never going to explode because it has very less mass than required. However, if we increase it's mass by 8 times of its current mass, it will explode to be a neutron star. What happens when the Sun explodes? If you held the hydrogen bomb near your eyeball and detonate it, that explosion still be a billion times less bright than the brightness of watching the exploding Sun from earth. How bright a supernova is? Supernovas are insanely bright. They appear brighter than hundreds of billions of stars combined. They are so much bright, we can observe them from billions of light year far.  They are so much bright that they appear out of nowhere in the sky.
